Re: HED JET 50 WHEELSET,
IAN!!!
WOW!
I had to stop for a coffee down the street from your shop.
As I stepped out of the car, I couldn't resist grabbing the wheel and giving it
a spin in my hands to see just how smooth these things really were........
As I sat there hypnotized for what seemed to be 10 minutes (i must have looked like Rain Man wiggin out in the middle of a parking lot) , I woke up to an old lady honking her
buick at me to get the hell out of her way. THE THING DIDN'T EVEN SLOW DOWN!!!! It felt like if i let go of it, it would have continued HOVERING in that very spot!!!!
SWEET WHEELS MAN, THANK YOU!!!!

RE: GURU VENIO ROAD BIKE,
W O W
The new bike is awesome - light, fast and comfortable!! Went out for my inaugural spin... didn't realize what was missing till an hour into it: no shoulder or neck pain, no hand numbness, no knee pain, no vibration through my butt... climbing was great (this coming from a girl who's been out of the saddle for 3 weeks...)
I don't need to tell you that going from Sora/Tiagra to full Ultegra is like going from a Chevette to a Mercedes... LOL
Love the wider handlebars and the larger ultegra pedals are superb!
I'm extremely happy with the fit - thank you, Ian!!

Re: HED ARDENNES WHEELS,
I completely agree with the review.
I put new Continental GP 4000S tires on them inflated to 90 PSI ( I may still need to experiment with this )
The only point of reference I have are my previous wheels; Mavic Kysrium Equipe with Michel Pro tires.
During the 4 day ride, I re-rode much of the route that I had trained on using the Mavic's so I had a good point of comparison.
I can say without a doubt that the ride on the Ardennes was much smoother and probably helped to save wear and tear
on my body over the 200+km days.
The wheels seemed to have improved all aspects of my riding. ( I am sure some of this may have been due to the weight savings )
- Coasting and rolling I was going faster then before ( I set new personal speed records going down hills and felt stable )
- climbing hills seemed to require less effort.
- I was able to accelerate quicker
- We got very lucky and only had to ride in the rain for about 50km. The wheels/tires felt very stable in the rain.
Overall I was able to ride with the strongest members in the group.
And... I got numerous compliments on the looks of the wheels which always makes you go faster :+)
I am very happy with the wheels and have no regrets with this purchase.
I think they are ideal for the type of riding I participate in.
I just need to figure out what I'll upgrade nect year ;+)

RE: SELLE SMP SADDLE,
Let me give a pitch for the Selle SMP Saddle. I rode approx 4800 km training. And 850km over 4 days during the tour.
Never once did I have any numbness. My only complaint would be on the last day I developed some saddle sores
but I think this may have happened regardless of the saddle. I think that as I tired my posture and riding style suffered.
In the future perhaps chamois cream would help ?
